Mandarin...(true story)

Updated: Oct 21, 2017

Today was okay....I was kinda sad because, you know I had school. So, when 6th period came, I was pumped because school was almost over. A lot of people that I would consider friends are in that class and since that class was small, I could sit next to them. So when I walked into class that day, I was shocked to see that my Mandarin teacher had arranged the desk differently and the teacher said we could sit anywhere we wanted. I sat at the same desk..or close to the same position, because I honestly didn't know where my actual desk was. I sat there and my close friend sat somewhere else. She told me to sit next to her instead, so I did. It was right when the bell rings that things start escalated downward. Yes, it started at the beginning of class and ended at the end of class.

This is how the "story" went down(huge sigh).

I was sitting next to my friend when she all of a sudden got up, moved, and started sitting next to this other girl. Yup, I know right. I was a bit sad, but I didn't show it. She said,"Hey I'm still sitting next to you!" She said it loud and she was right she was still sitting next to me, but one the other far side. You know what I mean? I was kinda embarrassed(she said it out loud). She was the kind of girl to do those things. You know, the one girl in class who always talks, says things out loud, and everyone in class knows her name. Anyway..., I sat next to no one while (yes, I noticed) everyone else was sitting next to someone.

The teacher said that we would be playing a game. Yes!!! Know one wants to do homework and classwork. Oh, and by the way, at the end of class she told us we had a Mandarin unit test! The game was to get into teams, the teacher would say words, and we would have to write down the characters for them.(btw: in Mandarin there are characters) There was an odd m=number of kids in the class and the teacher chose four guys as the team "leader". You know the drill: the team leader chooses the teams and all depending if they know you or not. Well...I thought my classmates knew my name! I guess I was WRONG.

All team leader were standing at the front of the class, while everyone else was sitting down. They started picking one by one. I thought I was at least going to be chosen by the second or third round. All my friends were chosen and I have never even seen any of them COMMUNICATE to any of the team "leaders" before! It was down to two people, my heart sinks. The feeling sucks and I was humiliated. I hate when things like this happens. Is it by popularity, skill, or something else entirely?! Who knows? At that point I had a glimmer of hope that I was going to be chosen. (Sorry, I forget to mention that when the leaders chose us, we didn't get up, we just kind of knew. So you could lose track and pick someone who has already been picked if you lost track). The teacher lost track.

The teacher said,"So who hasn't gotten picked yet?" Only one hand shot up. It was me. Everyone looked at me. The kid in the back. You could imagine how bad I felt, for myself! Embarrassing. No one said anything, until the teacher said that I should a random group. No one chose me because know on knew my name(don't know the reason), so the teacher assigned me a group. I joined the group and my close friend was in the group. She was the one who went to sit next to some other girl. Humiliating. I was sad the entire game and though I tried to hide it, I still felt like crap. At the end of the day, the teacher said we had to arrange the desk back to it's original formation. Oh, and guess what? I overheard my team "leader" ask my friend what my name was.

THE END.

(doesn't this picture trigger you? answer this when you are mad)
